Several Thousand Expected to Attend Green on the Green Festival May 5

Free One-Day Community Festival in Worthington, Sponsored by Big Green Head, Natural Awakenings of Central Ohio, and The Old Worthington Partnership, Helps Visitors Go “Green” with an Electric Car Ride & Drive, Solar Displays, Local Artisans Creating From Repurposed Materials, spring plantings, and More.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - April 26, 2018 -- Today, Big Green Head, a company helping people reduce their impact on the environment, announced the schedule for its ninth annual Green on the Green festival, which is May 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Taking place on the day the Worthington Farmers Market kicks off its outdoor season, the festival is expected to draw several thousand attendees.

As part of this year’s festival, Big Green Head, in collaboration with The Old Worthington Partnership, will offer an electric car ride and drive event, along with a solar cell phone charging station, local artisans re-purposing materials, spring plantings, and more.

“This year’s Green on the Green festival features new opportunities for visitors to shop from over 70 local eco-conscious businesses including the opportunity to test drive electric cars”, said Karen Ferris, executive director, Green on the Green, and founder of Big Green Head. “We want people to come and enjoy themselves while learning more about ways they can live with less impact on the environment.”
Local exhibitors cover a range of Eco-friendly vendors.  Highlights of Green on the Green include:

*  Fairy garden workshop and spring plantings, kids are encouraged to make one for Mother’s Day

*  Music for the kids with Mr. Eric from 11:30 am- 12:30 pm, who performs interactive music programs.

*   A unique eco-friendly shopping experience offering everything from handcrafted items made from repurposed materials, organic lawn care, and home improvements.  
*  Organizations educating visitors about soil and water conservation and animal adoption.

From the simplest “green” steps to the latest in renewable energy and green technology, the festival features something for everyone to learn and do.
