The Gary Smith Worthington Classic is a favorite community event that takes participants through Worthington neighborhoods and on the Olentangy bike path. It was established in memory of Gary Smith, Worthington teacher and Track and Cross Country coach who was respected most for his integrity and compassionate commitment to young people. It is a 5-Mile Run, 3-Mile Walk, and 2-Mile Kids Race. Proceeds provide scholarships for Worthington students and donations to local organizations that support children with medical or physical challenges. Our event promotes community, exercise, Worthington’s natural settings, and gives to young people.
